My law enforcement career began in 1989 when I became a reserve deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. After a short time I was hired as a full-time deputy and was given many opportunities for a diverse career in law enforcement.

As a patrol deputy, school investigator, DARE instructor, field training officer, narcotics investigator, canine handler, firearms trainer, and canine team trainer I was able to learn many different facets of a law enforcement agency. I also had the honor of working with different federal agencies while working on task forces and I made many friends.

In August of 2006 I was made aware that the Travelers Rest Police Department was conducting interviews to fill the captain’s position. It was my distinct honor to be selected for this position and to work with Chief Lance Crowe. I was very excited about the opportunities of working with some of the finest police officers and dispatchers around.

I come from a small town in rural North Carolina so I know of the values, friendships, and pride that come from working for and with people who all know each other. The people of Travelers Rest have been very generous and kind to me personally, and I look forward to serving this community and the employees of the police department with a high degree of professionalism. I hope to give the officers and dispatchers opportunities to receive some of the best training available so that our service can be professional and effective for the City of Travelers Rest.
